Re: Video
What a stupid way to introduce people to and promote the sport.
Allowing them to:
- take off AND land on the wheels
- keep both hands on the basetube at all times
Using wire assistance to keep the glider from rolling, not just during takeoff, but through the ENTIRE FLIGHT.

No evidence whatsoever that they're using a standard aerotow weak link...

...to very clearly provide protection from excessive angles of attack...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYe3YmdIQTM
...and teach the student how to properly respond to being inconvenienced.
And that two point bridle takes away a lot of the risk which is so important in attracting us to the sport.
Cheese-eating surrender monkeys.

The main reason hang gliding is reasonably safe today is because of the excellent training we have today that didn't exist thirty years ago.

"Hang Gliding Static Car Tow Weak Link Break"

Went out for some towing practice and had a weak link break due to a thermal at about 400ft. I haven't flown this glider too much so the spot landing accuracy needs work and so does the flare. You can get away with murder in a floater
