The harness is part of the aircraft... end of story.
(Just because it's easy to remove, does not mean it should be. Dont choose the path of least resistance)

Attach it to the wing, completing the aircraft.... then preflight the completed aircraft.
Buckle yourself into the cockpit and then your ready.

Once again history has shown us that this thread-through system can hook up and the hang glider remains being towed by the keel only, with the bridle well out of reach of even a hook knife. I know of just one pilot to survive this type of hook-up, took him some twelve months to walk again though.

We (and many others) do not recommend using a second weaklink on the non-released end of the bridle. That weaklink is just as likely to break as the one on the other end. If the lower weak link breaks, the bridle could get caught in the towline ring, and pull the glider from the 'biner or keel, causing it to tuck. The other weaklink (on top) may not break prior to the tuck.

The weaklink should be on the released end of the bridle, and the bridle should release from the top. That way, if the bridle does get caught on the ring, it is pulling from the body, rather than from the glider, and the glider may still be controllable--in which case you can use your secondary release (or hook knife if that fails) to release.

You can't use:
- standard aerotow weak links on both ends of the bridle 'cause there'd be a fifty/fifty chance of blowing the bottom first
- a stronger weak link on the bottom such that there's zero chance of out of sequence blows.

But it's OK to configure such that the weak link is totally taken out of the equation AND to deliberately blow from the bottom.

GAWD I hate those two motherfuckers.

P.S. That asshole has a Rooney Link at his left shoulder.

- He can STILL get both weak links (plus the Dragonfly's) taken out of the equation and be left with full unlimited tension going straight to his bent pin backup release.

- That motherfucker has never acknowledged any benefit to having any secondary weak links.

P.P.S. I SO hope somebody gets killed releasing from the bottom - preferably at Cloud 9. We'd have SO many of these assholes by the balls.

I hope he doesn't. Our job cleaning up the gene pool will be considerably easier if his wife and kids starve to death and it'll force Trisa and all the other Industry sleazebags to come up with more reasons why releasing from the bottom is the safer option in many circumstances.
