Why we love wheels

I run as fast, but it took only one slight trip to rip my supraspinatus tendon.

Run out landings
Davis Straub - 2012/04/18 23:54:03 UTC

I still can't use my right arm to flare

Landing in the weeds yesterday and landing at the airfield today. I don't have enough pain free range of motion to actually flare:

So because you attempted to do a good standup landing on an airstrip when you DIDN'T need to you now won't be able to do a good standup landing if you DO need to?

But we are equipping Ashley with a hang gliding skillset that will be of benefit to her in the future. At the same time she is being given guidance to help her make the correct decisions so she will not injure herself or others while hang gliding.
You doing the math on this, Ashley?

I had a very different mindset too back then and trusted the people that made my equipment. Since then I've realized (largely due to this discussion) that while I can certainly consider the advice of others, I can't trust anyone in this sport but myself (and maybe the people at Wills Wing).

Davis lands on his feet when he could have easily rolled in on the wheels.

What does Tad say?

Aside from, perhaps, making it really clear that if it had to be someone Davis was a really excellent choice, I've already said it a few hundred thousand times.

So what's your point?

The point is that you have fire and brimstone for anyone who disagrees with any of your edicts. You are namby pamby with Davis.

Got it?

1. These aren't my edicts - much as I'd like to take credit for them. These are Sir Isaac's edicts.

2. Yes. Anyone who disagrees with Sir Isaac can go fuck himself and/orover to The Davis Show, The Jack Show, and/or the remnants of The Bob Show and feel right at home and get along great with other vegetables like Sam.
You are namby pamby with Davis.
I have absolutely know idea what you mean by that sentence - but if I edit it down to:
You are with Davis.
I can tell you that it's bullshit because I despise that motherfucker enough that if I saw him on a ramp with his carabiner dangling I'd probably just keep the camera rolling.
Got it?
Not entirely, but... Close enough. Seems to be some kind of personal attack.

Not really worried about it much though 'cause I'm totally confident that I know what I'm talking about at the levels I need for just about all of this stuff and thus I'm also totally confident in saying that you don't.

This forum exist primarily 'cause I want Little Ashley to learn to become a competent pilot without having to break any arms because of idiot standup landings or idiot standard aerotow weak links, to shatter her face 'cause her idiot bent pin releases weren't so easy to get to and pry open in an oscillation as they were when she was parked on the dolly, and her career - and life - cut short by an idiot hang check.

You...
For me, I could care less.
...couldn't care less because for you this forum...
After all, it is only internet entertainment.
...is only internet entertainment.

So why does it matter in the least to you what I say here? If it's not entertaining then don't read it.

Personal attack? nope.
I do not do personal attacks anymore. If it was a personal attack, you would not have to wonder.
Just making sure you got it.
And yes, I do read and post to learn something and for entertainment.

I do not do personal attacks anymore.
1. I've slapped together a total piece of shit aerotow release. It flunks the specifications for legal towing and locks up one out of three times and I know it.

2. But I put out a lot of misleading advertising and publicity and sell it for a hundred and forty bucks a copy.

3. But, to cover my ass legally, I include some fine print in the owner's manual that I don't allow the customer to see beforehand stating that the release isn't suitable for any form of towing anything.

3. Ashley locks out on her third tow, can't get off, and gets quaded for life.

What's your response to me? We gonna fly together at McClure and then kick back over a couple of brews talking about our low saves?
If it was a personal attack, you would not have to wonder.
Oh good. And here I was thinking that "namby-pamby" and "Davis" were indications of some sort of negativity.
Just making sure you got it.
You didn't. I'm even more confused now than I was before.
And yes, I do read and post to learn something and for entertainment.
1. That's a step up. Before it was just for entertainment.

2. If you learn something here that you're pretty sure will prevent you from being badly hurt, what are you gonna do with it? Just add it to your own protocols or intervene on somebody else's behalf as well?

Google and Wiki are your friends...
Yeah, I know know how to use computers to find out stuff.

And I know:
-what namby-pamby means.
- it's not a complimentary term.

And, while I understand that there ARE people who think highly of Davis, those people are total morons at best and total scumbags on the average.

I still don't understand the sentence:
You are namby pamby with Davis.
but it's real difficult to construe it as anything positive and I DO view it as a personal attack.

But, as one of two people here who has access to the lethal buttons, I'm very little concerned about personal attacks. This sport is in desperate need of devastating personal attacks and WAY more. I'd just appreciate it if you could provide the evidence justifying any personal attacks and would respond to the countering evidence provided by the accused.
No offence intended.
01. I didn't intend to break my foot when I attempted to launch out of the slot at Woodstock for a sledder on the evening of 1992/06/20. But not checking the ribbons and noting that the air had just shifted to katabatic had life altering and permanent consequences for me.

02. Ashley's instructors are not intending for her to break an arm or neck on a landing or run off a ramp without her glider but that's EXACTLY what their crap training is setting her up for.

03. So yeah, I don't know what you WERE intending but I took - and take - offense from it.

04. And I don't think that should come as a great shock to you.

05. But that's not a very big fucking deal either way.

06. What I find way MORE offensive is that I asked you a question in my last post and you totally ignored it.

07. When YOU post something here I'll respond to address every single point you make as thoroughly and accurately as possible.

08. But you don't treat me with a fraction of the respect with which I treat you.

09. Is THIS:
Nobody - 2012/04/18 23:45:01 UTC

Bob lives in a fantasy world of his own design. Comprehension is a threat to his fantasy.
how you want to behave and be assessed by people who know which way is up in this sport?

10. 'Cause if you continue you'll never do the sport, the people in it - including yourself, or the people to come a whole helluva lot of good.

11. If you wanna start turning things around you can start by answering the question I asked you.

12. Or you can just continue to get along great with everybody in the scumbag mainstream and you'll probably do just fine for yourself without me - like many hundreds, thousands of others have.

I think he was just pointing out the fact that you didn't slam Davis for landing on his feet as he was apparently expecting you to do. "Namby pamby with Davis" meaning weak in your response to him in this instance.
