This is what happens when you use cheap crap dyed brickies line for a weak link, after this effort I only use quality stuff from now on :)
Allen McMillan - 2015/01

Don't use the standard white brickies line, as you found out it is prone to break without stress. We prefer the line that has the green fleck -ask Ebbs.

A whole lot of trying to release with two hands and not flying the glider.

It is encouraging to see that he kept his hands on the down, sorry, control tubes for most of the flight. And that he didn't give himself a false sense of security until just after launch.

Is hang gliding too difficult to learn

Easy to learn, yet you still can't figure out how to stay on tow, Mr. Pro-toad.

Ryan Voight video demonstrating how to instruct students to not give themselves false senses of security until just after launch:

PS Watch what the glider does at 2:50.

Bad Launch!
Ryan Voight - 2012/09/26 14:23:55 UTC

Running to the right = weight shift to the right.

It's all about what the glider feels. Running to the right pulls the hang loop to the right, just like when you weight shift at 3,000 ft. Glider doesn't know or care what means you used to pull the hang loop to the right.
Defective glider. Better notify Wills Wing, send it back for corrective adjustments/modifications, and give Mike Meier's "Why Can't We Get A Handle On This Safety Thing?" article another read.

So, do you guys have a pet bird? That bird is in every shot!
Ryan Voight

He just showed up one day... and stuck around for a few weeks (until the weather turned cold). He would get really close, and eat the bugs that we stirred up while walking in the grass. We named him Jerry. :-)
Cowbird. (Nice job narrowing it down to the "bird" category for us, Ryan.)
