Running to the right = weight shift to the right.

It's all about what the glider feels. Running to the right pulls the hang loop to the right, just like when you weight shift at 3,000 ft. Glider doesn't know or care what means you used to pull the hang loop to the right.

Defective glider. Better notify Wills Wing, send it back for corrective adjustments/modifications, and give Mike Meier's "Why Can't We Get A Handle On This Safety Thing?" article another read.

He just showed up one day... and stuck around for a few weeks (until the weather turned cold). He would get really close, and eat the bugs that we stirred up while walking in the grass. We named him Jerry.
