You and I have had the courage to use our real nanes for decades.
I don't necessarily think that use of a real nane is an act of courage or concealing one's identity is an act of cowardice. Hang gliding is a war zone and we've got participants who will happily put tons of people in the air with deadly defective training and equipment rather than admit that they're incompetent and negligent - knowing that a certain percentage of them will die.
I use my real nane because I:
- believe I can be most effective under it
- don't really have any choice anyway - anybody with half a brain or better would be able to spot my literary fingerprint in a nanosecond
I also use fake IDs to access information at sites from which I've been banned with less than zero justification but I don't post and have zero inclination to.
Some members here conceal their identities:
- 'cause they want to be able to continue their flying careers and not be retaliated against by the corrupt criminal monopoly that controls this sport
- in order to infiltrate enemy positions as described above
Who does Jonathan Deytch think he is that makes him so special?
Someone who's contributed to the mission and made what I considered a reasonable request for reasonable reasons about which I'm not concerned.
You have no justification to liberally and abusively use the real names of everyone you hate and yet protect the likes of Jonathan Dyetch.
1. Who says I need any? Kite Strings was founded as a dictatorship and has never made any pretense of being anything else. But I'm comfortable enough with its contributors to share real power/control. Compare/Contrast with US Hawks - a perpetual dictatorship masquerading as a democratic utopia.
2. Yeah, I've got good reason to hate cowardly sniping little mainstream shits like peanuts AKA Dennis Wood. Got a problem with that? Get fucked.
3. Two different spellings of his last name in the space of two sentences.

I've been backing up / archiving the forum since Day One. Slipped up a few times and lost a few photos and videos but still pretty complete.

One of the things that I've admired about your forum was the integrity you've had regarding people's posts. As far as I can tell you've had a perfect record ... until now.
Then you can't tell all that well. I've edited tons of posts and quotes to:
- fix spelling and grammar errors
- clarify meaning
- amend with links to sources
- standardize format
But I don't EVER:
- alter meaning/intent
- erase history
Such a shame to see you lose that for Jonathan Deytch ...

1. Nobody - at any point in the history of Kite Strings. And that's an absolutely ridiculous and obscene charge. Not all that surprising though - when one considers how readily and happily you jumped into bed with that motherfucker in your first effort at founding an alternate national hang gliding association.
2. The Tad Show?
- At Tad's Hole In The Ground there are nineteen other individuals with the power to wipe this forum off the map. Authors HAVE edited and deleted their own posts but there is ZERO evidence of anyone maliciously deleting or altering so much as a punctuation mark of another author. Find another forum with a comparable level of trust and shared power.
- Also note that only one topic here, Skyting, is locked and it's only locked because its an archive of Donnell Hewett's Skyting newsletter and not a discussion.
